HIS 305 - Queer Ethnic History in America3 Credits
This course is a survey of queer history in 20th Century America. Students examine white and queer ethnic identities (including African American, Chicano/a, Asian American, and American Indian identities) as constructed and lived in United States cities in the past century. Cities have racialized, gendered, and sexualized components; students will evaluate how American cities have served to encourage and inhibit the construction of queer communities.
