XNN 105 - Sustainable Food & Agriculture0 Credits Connections Block BIO 115 - Concepts of Biology and CHM 103 - General Chemistry: The Chemistry of Food. Sustainable Food and Agriculture is part of a larger Growing Connections sequence of courses (four courses in the fall semester with the option to continue in the winter/spring and beyond) that focuses on the history, theories, and practices of sustainable agriculture. This portion focuses on the biology and chemistry of food and agriculture in sustainable systems. Students in Growing Connections work closely with faculty mentors and regional farmers in classrooms, labs, and fields to develop a comprehensive understanding of the role that agriculture plays in the lives of individuals and their communities. Corequisites: XHH (Agricultural Humanities Block).
