Return to: Northland’s Co-Curriculum: Character and Competence Curriculum
The First Year Experience (FYE) program is designed to engage new students in the richness and diversity of campus life. The program begins with an Outdoor Orientation trip, and continues, during the first half of the semester, with a sequence of planned events and activities that take place on campus and in the local area.
For the FYE, students are assigned to a section with 8-10 first-year students and an upper-class student instructor. Some FYE activities are completed by single sections of students, and others combine FYE sections into larger groups. See SLC 0100 .
This graduation requirement must be completed by all first-year students and by transfer students who enter the College with fewer than 24 transfer credits.
