BIO 420 - Methods in Molecular Biology4 Credits
Students examine the laboratory techniques used to study how higher organisms maintain and express genetic information. The course emphasizes model organisms and their responses to environmental stimuli; topics include DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, gene cloning and manipulation, analysis of gene expression, conservation genetics, and bioinformatics.
