To complete a major in Mathematics & Data Science, choose one of the following emphases:
Environmental Data Science Emphasis
Additional courses:
- 15-16 Credits chosen from within mathematical and natural sciences at the 200 level or above or in other programs in consultation with a mathematical sciences professor. They should be selected to augment one’s combined interests in data science and another discipline (e.g., Mathematics, GIS, Climate Science or Business).
Mathematical Science Emphasis
Additional courses with a quantitative focus:
- 15-16 Credits chosen from within mathematical sciences or other programs in consultation with a mathematical sciences professor and should be selected to augment one’s interests in mathematical sciences (e.g., College Geometry and Discrete Mathematics) or in support of one’s combined interests in mathematics and another discipline (e.g., advanced physics or computer science). Note that some other courses of a quantitative nature may require pre-requisites in addition to those required above.
Total Mathematics & Data Science Major: 54-55 Credits
