SOC 325 - Social Epidemiology

3 Credits


Social epidemiology is the study of how social, political, economic, and cultural cirmcumstances influence our chances of living healthy lives. Using epidemiological theories and methods, we will study who gets sick and why.  This course will focus on: the social causes and consequences of disease; how disease and illness is spread unevenly among different populations; and how public health policy can help control or reduce the spread of disease and chronic illness.
Prerequisites: SOC 111
