NAS 227 - Food Sovereignty

3 Credits


Using a social movement perspective, students explore the history of the food sovereignty movement, policies, and local community action.  Students learn more about traditional culture, water rights, treaty rights, gathering and growing food and community empowerment. There is a service-learning component, where students spend time in local Native community gardens and orchards.
